Choline

Choline is a member of the water-soluble B complex vitamin group. Although humans synthesize choline, the rate is normally insufficient. The nutrient is considered an essential vitamin nutrient.


BIOLOGICAL FUNCTION & EFFECT:

• choline is a precursor to acetylcholine

• choline is useful in reducing tremors associated with diseases of the nervous system


• SOURCES

Egg yolk, organ meats, brewer's yeast, wheat germ, soybeans, peanuts, legumes.


• NOTES

• one of the main characteristics of Alzheimer's disease is a deficiency in acetylcholine.
